According to The Immigration Act,B.E.2522,the foreigner who has received a temporary stay permit and stayed in the Kingdom of Thailand over 90 days must notify his/her residence to immigration officer every 90 days.

Documents Required
1. Application form
2. A copy of police station report
3. A copy of old passport which photo attached (if any)
4. A copy of new passport
5. Letter from the embassy of the foreigner to the Immigration Bureau requesting cooperation for visa stamp in the new passport of the foreigner.

procedures and practices
1. Foreigner, please meet the officer at the counter service, Sub-division 2, Immigration Division 1 to submit an application and fill out the form.
2. The officer checks the details of the information and the passport or a Emergency Travel Document.
3. Officers check evidence of travel into the Kingdom of Thailand.
4. If the information on entering the Kingdom is correct, a copy of the entry stamp will be added to the new passport.
5. In the case of a foreigner who has applied to stay in the Kingdom or has applied a residence permit before, he/she must go to the department related or Sub-division 1, as the case may be, to affix a copy of visa stamp to stay in the Kingdom to wait for further consideration or to wait for the consideration of an application for a residence permit.

Remark: In the case that the applicant has applied to stay in the Kingdom before. Please contact the immigration office where the applicant has last applied to stay in the Kingdom.

Important note:  In the case that the alien changes the juristic person which is the employer or the alien is out of duty (termination / resignation)

When an alien has been granted permission to stay in the Kingdom, he or she must perform duties or stay for the reason requested as permitted. If there are any changes in the performance of duties (change of juristic person who is an employer or out of duty) or change the reason for applying to stay in the Kingdom that different from the original requested. That will result in the permission to stay in the kingdom will be terminated immediately and must be processed. This also applies to those who follow the alien as well.

Documents required are as follows:

  1. A letter to the Immigration Bureau to notify the alien who is out of duty. (It must specify the date of leaving work clearly. If the date of resignation is not specified, it will be deemed to be retired by the date of issuance of the letter) signed by the authorized director of the company or limited partnership.
  2. Copy of company registration certificate or registration of a limited partnership (certified by the registrar for not more than 6 months)
  3. Copy of ID card or a copy of the passport of the authorized director of the company with the signature certifying true copy
  4. Passport of the alien (Officers must stamp out of duty in that passport)

note :
notification of termination (Cancel visa) will cause permission to stay in the Kingdom immediately terminated, which must contact the Immigration Officer to inform the termination of duty on the date of termination of employment (Last day of work) and please contact to the former Immigration Office where the alien has applied to stay in the Kingdom.

The fine for overstaying is 500 Baht per day, reaching a maximum fine of 20,000 Baht

Penalties according to the Ministry of Interior Order No. 1/2558 are as follows:

In case of aliens surrendering to the authorities

Visiting procedures are the responsibility of Command 3 Investigation Interrogate Center, Immigration Bureau (Muang Thong Thani).
Detainees may receive visitors on working days Mon-Fri, 11.00-12.00 hrs.

The following documents must be produced:

Items allowed to be brought into the visiting area:

  2. personal utensils

Visiting procedures:

  1. produce the required documents to the officer in charge
  2. deposit forbidden items
  3. pass the arms and bombs screening gate
  4. pass a body and bag search
  5. visit the detainee in his/her cell
  6. leave the cell before 12.00 hrs.
